(In this post we will know about some Indian English poets, who are famous for their English writings.)
A.K. Ramanujan
Birth and education
Attipat Krishnaswami Ramanujan born in Mysore, India in 1929. Not only was Ramanujan a transitional figure but he was also a trans-disciplinary scholar, working as a poet, translator, linguistic, and folklorist. Although he wrote family in English, he was fluent both kannad the common public language of Mysore and Tamil, the language of his family, as well.
Ramanujan received his B.A. and M.A. in English language and literature from the university of Mysore. In 1962 he became an assistant professor at the university of Chicago. He worked in the departments of South Asian languages and civilizations, linguistics and with the committee on social thought.
Awards
In 1976 the government of India awarded him the honorific title 'Padma Sri' and in 1983 he was given the Mack Arthur prize fellow(shulman 1994).

Following are the titles of the volumes of poems published by him:
- The striders (1966)
- Relations (1971)
- Second sight (1976)
A collection of the selected poems of Ramanujan was also brought out in 1976 by the Oxford university press.
Death-July 13, 1993 in Chicago.
